What Everton are now prepared to do to sign Jack Grealish from Man City, it is ‘substantial’

Jack Grealish continues to be linked with an exit from Manchester City this summer, with Everton in the frame to land him.

The 29-year-old is expected to depart, as Pep Guardiola looks to trim down his squad ahead of 2025/26.

Jack Grealish has fallen by the wayside in recent times, and with the likes of Omar Marmoush, Rayan Cherki, Phil Foden, Savinho and Jeremy Doku all on the books, sticking around would be counter-productive.

The World Cup takes place next year, and Grealish needs to be playing regularly.

And one club that has expressed interest in Grealish is Everton.

Potentially, it’s one that could rumble on, but an interesting claim has been made this morning regarding the Toffees’ pursuit of the player.

A host of clubs have expressed interest in Grealish this summer.

But one thing that is likely to be a sticking point for a lot of those suitors is the player’s wages.

It is a well-known fact that Grealish is one of the highest-paid players in the Premier League, and any loan move this summer would almost certainly require City to help out with the payment of the wages.

We will see if Everton ask City to do that – but the Toffees are now prepared to do one thing to try and convince City to make a deal.

Following a claim that Everton were actually ready to shelve their interest in Grealish, TEAMtalk have now reported that they are prepared to part with a ‘substantial’ fee to sign the player on loan, although no specific figure has been suggested.

It is stated they have ‘genuine hope’ of signing the former Aston Villa man, although no formal negotiations have taken place yet.

Grealish – who has been valued at around £40 million by City for a potential permanent deal (via Birmingham Mail) is said to be aware of Everton’s interest.

Everton loan move would be brilliant for Grealish

A loan move to Everton feels like it could be exactly what Grealish needs.

Everton are heading into a new stadium and are under the guidance of a great Premier League manager in David Moyes.

Appearances – 157
Goals – 17
Assists – 23
Trophies – 7

They also have a very passionate fanbase, and that fanbase is optimistic about an exciting new chapter with new owners having arrived last December.

Grealish would surely play regularly under Moyes, who previously hailed Grealish as being ‘the best player in the Premier League’ in February 2021 (via Metro) when Grealish was in fine form for Villa.

Geographically, it would also be ideal, as Grealish would not have to uproot his family.
