Pep Guardiola has now admitted he will ask Ederson for advice ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup final between Manchester City and Fluminense on Friday.
The 52-year-old spoke in his pre-match press conference.
So, what did Pep Guardiola say about Ederson? Let’s take a look…
Pep Guardiola has secret weapon in Ederson
Well, this is very convenient for Manchester City.
Fluminense boss Fernando Diniz holds the unique role of managing both the Brazilian giants and also the Brazil national team, where he works with Ederson.
Now, Guardiola has revealed he will ask his £34.7m glovesman about the 49-year-old’s tactics, but conceded that the result will ultimately come down to his players.
The Spaniard is quoted by UOL as saying: “I have Ederson here, who will talk to me about Diniz, about his ideas, but in the end it’s the players who will make the difference.”
This is very handy for Manchester City – to say the least.

Manchester City are clear favourites to win the FIFA Club World Cup on Friday, although Fluminense will be highly motivated for the clash in Jeddah given how well regarded this competition is in South America.
Therefore, Ederson’s knowledge of Diniz’s tactics could be the difference maker, as there is very little time to prepare for Friday’s clash.
What Manchester City will receive if Guardiola defeats Fluminense
The FIFA Club World Cup holds a host of potential rewards.
Manchester City will secure themselves the iconic FIFA Champions Badge if they defeat Fluminense – which can be worn in the UEFA Champions League – as well as a cash prize.

It would be Manchester City’s maiden FIFA Club World Cup win – at the first time of asking.
Hopefully, Guardiola’s side can edge over the line, and set themselves up nicely for a title charge in the second half of the 2023/24 campaign.
