Tim Sherwood has emphasised that Kevin De Bruyne is Manchester City’s best player.

The pundit touched on De Bruyne being on another level to the rest of his world-class teammates, according to him while speaking to Premier League Productions.

Glenn Hoddle held the same opinion as the former Aston Villa boss in November, much before the 32-year-old’s heroic return from injury in recent games.

Tim Sherwood says Kevin De Bruyne is Manchester City’s best player

Ruben Dias described the £400,000-a-week (Sport Rac) man as a “special talent” and expressed his privilege about being in the same team as him.

Kyle Walker feels only a select few players, like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are on the same level as the £54 million (The Telegraph) man.

Now, Tim Sherwood has also touched on Kevin De Bruyne being the standout player that Manchester City have at their disposal.

“In the dressing room, you know when your top man comes back. An unassuming top man, he doesn’t shout from the rooftops, but he performs every day in training. They’re all top drawer, but above top-drawer is Kevin De Bruyne, world, world-class, everyone knows their position in the dressing room and he’s right at the top of it”, he told Premier League Productions.

Kevin De Bruyne is the best

Of course, names like Erling Haaland, Bernardo Silva and Rodri will also be brought up by many as potential candidates for being City’s best player.

However, Tim Sherwood is right about Kevin De Bruyne being the main man at Manchester City for two reasons in particular.

Firstly, De Bruyne has been at the club for longer than any other player in the squad and as a result, he has contributed to their success much more as well.

Right from the Belgian’s debut campaign at the Etihad Stadium under Manuel Pellegrini’s time in charge, he was a superstar.

In addition, no other player at Manchester City is as impactful when it comes to winning games off the back of their individual brilliance as Kevin De Bruyne.

As a result, it is impossible to look past him as the club’s protagonist.
