City are now just one point behind Liverpool, with the Premier League title race tighter than ever.

City have actually found clean sheets pretty hard to come by this season.

In the Premier League, City have managed to keep seven clean sheets up to now, but this latest one against Brentford is significant.
The ‘incredible’ Ederson has now kept 109 clean sheets in the Premier League for Manchester City, and has gone level with Joe Hart, as per Squawka.
He needs to keep just one more for the outright record.
Hart kept 109 clean sheets in 266 games, whereas Ederson has kept his 109 clean sheets in just 241.
An impressive achievement
So Ederson is about to write his name into the Manchester City history books, and it will be a brilliant thing because the Brazilian has been such a fantastic and important signing for the club.
Ederson – described recently by Ben Brereton Diaz as one of the best South American players in Premier League history – has obviously been so crucial to the way City have played since he arrived, being so good with his feet.
Sometimes though his amazing ball-playing ability does lead people to forget how good a shot-stopper he is.
That all said, £35 million star Ederson could obviously not have kept so many clean sheets in the Premier League without the brilliant defenders he’s had in front of him down the years, and this is a brilliant reflection on the likes of Ruben Dias, John Stones, Nathan Ake, Manuel Akanji, Josko Gvardiol, Kyle Walker, and former City players such as Vincent Kompany and Aymeric Laporte.
