On most occasions, Manchester City tend to get their hands on whichever young player who has caught their eye.
The latest example is Caelan Kole-Cadamarteri, who has joined Manchester City and is set to play in their youth ranks for a number of years with the hope of eventually becoming a first-team player.
Similarly, Mahamadou Sangare signed for Manchester City as well, who was regarded as one of Paris Saint-Germain’s most exciting talents.
But as is the case with every club, even Pep Guardiola’s side can sometimes miss out on some players.
Man City target Seth Ridgeon signs new contract with Fulham
Seth Ridgeon was on Manchester City’s radar, who is one of Fulham’s most prodigious up and coming youngsters.
However, Manchester United and Chelsea were eyeing Ridgeon as well, who is a box-to-box midfielder by trade.
Despite generating interest from some of the biggest clubs in England, the Manchester City target has chosen to extend his contract with Fulham.
Speaking about his decision to stay at Craven Cottage, the 16-year-old told Fulham’s official website: “It’s a very proud moment for me. I’ve been at the Club since I was eight and gone all the way through, and now it’s a dream come true to sign with my boyhood club to keep the journey going.
“Signing here for a lengthy period shows that Fulham produce young players and allow them to have the opportunity here, so I think it’s the best place to be for my development.”

Manchester City could be disappointed by Ridgeon’s decision to stay at Fulham.
After all, City have a history of giving young prospects a pathway to first-team football, with names like Phil Foden, Rico Lewis and Oscar Bobb serving as examples to wonderkids like the Englishman.
However, the teenager seems to be happy with life at Craven Cottage.
Another Fulham player who the Sky Blues could have targeted is Antonee Robinson, who Manchester City passed on.
Instead, City signed Rayan Ait-Nouri, who is another one of the Premier League’s finest left-backs.
Whether the English giants could regret that decision remains to be seen.
