This season has proven difficult for many stars at Man City.
After years of success that has put Pep Guardiola’s men into the conversation of being the best Premier League team of all time, the Manchester club is currently fighting for a place in next season’s Champions League, which is a feat they achieved with ease during previous campaigns.

| 6 | 32 | 15 | 9 | 8 | 56 | 39 | 17 | 54 |
A key factor in this has been the drop off from several legendary figures with Kevin De Bruyne set to depart Man City at the end of the season, while Kyle Walker’s time at the Etihad is coming to an end, having joined AC Milan on loan in January.
Doubt also surrounds the futures of some key figures in Guardiola’s squad and ahead of the summer transfer window, Gabriel Agbonlahor believes it is a ‘shame’ what has happened to one Man City star in particular this season.

Gabriel Agbonlahor believes ‘big decision’ faces Jack Grealish
Since arriving from Aston Villa as part of a £100m deal in 2021, Jack Grealish’s time at Man City has been up and down with the English star’s standout season being the 2022/23 campaign in which the Manchester club won the treble.
Shay Given believes Grealish might have fallen out with Guardiola, which could explain why the 29-year-old has started in just one of Man City’s last 15 Premier League games.
Man City fans have been calling for Grealish to be used as a number ten after the success he had in the role against Leicester City, but Guardiola is unlikely to hand the winger that opportunity often, which is why Agbonlahor believes he should consider his future ahead of a World Cup season.
“I think it is a big decision in the summer,” Agbonlahor said on talkSPORT. “The World Cup is next year and you want a season of playing football, showing what he can do.
“He loves Manchester City though, he is not going to want to leave. He is going to want to fight for his place. It has been a shame this season not to see him play as much as he should be.”
It remains unclear what will happen to Grealish this summer and how Guardiola feels about the player, as the Man City boss has been full of praise for the 29-year-old in the past.

Pep Guardiola thinks Jack Grealish is ‘incredible’
Due to the limited minutes he has received this season, Grealish scored his only Premier League goal of the season against Leicester City earlier this month, and it was timely as the winger would go on to dedicate it to his brother.
Upon learning this, Guardiola claimed that Grealish is an ‘incredible human being’, which does not indicate a fallout between the pair.
“Jack is an incredible human being. I didn’t know [about the anniversary],” the Man City boss said in his post-match press conference via Beanyman Sports.
“I can’t imagine how tough it can be for mum and dad, his sister and all the family. It’s good that this day he remembers him. I’m pretty sure they remember every single day. He scored a goal and made a good game.”
Grealish wants to remain at Man City next season as the 29-year-old loves the club but should he go in search of more minutes ahead of the 2026 World Cup, teams such as Aston Villa, Tottenham and Newcastle are interested.
It looks like a difficult task for Grealish to work his way back into Guardiola’s plans, which could result in the winger leaving at some stage next season, as the Englishman will want to be part of the Three Lions squad travelling to the United States, Canada and Mexico.
