Mark Schwarzer believes Phil Foden is playing the best football of his senior career.
Recently, John Stones hailed the silky technician for having an “incredible” season with City and proving to be a decisive figure in the side.
Thierry Henry also praised the £225,000-a-week (Sport Rac) man for taking more responsibility and stepping up for the Sky Blues as their go-to man this campaign.
Mark Schwarzer says Phil Foden is “in the form of his career”
In February, Sam Allardyce claimed that the Englishman has developed into one of the best attacking midfielders in the business.
As Phil Foden continues to be deservedly praised by current and ex-professionals, Mark Schwarzer has joined his long list of admirers by claiming that he has never been in better form than this season.

“Phil Foden is probably in the form of his career. Nine goals and seven assists, just in the Premier League alone. 15 goals and 10 goals in all comps for Manchester City.”
“For a Manchester City side that is kind of not firing on all cylinders but Phil Foden is”, he said on The Optus Sport Football Podcast.
Some would mention the 2020/2021 season but Phil Foden is certainly better now
Perhaps some would argue with Mark Schwarzer and claim that Phil Foden was equally as impressive for Manchester City during the 2020/2021 season.
But the Stockport-born attacker has become much more measured in his approach, according to his manager, Pep Guardiola earlier this month, which has unleashed the most complete version of himself.
During the 2020/2021 campaign, Foden was a lot more aggressive in his approach and it seemed like he played the game at a much quicker pace.
Plus, it seems like Phil Foden has a case for being Manchester City’s best player this season while in his breakthrough term, in our view, the likes of Ruben Dias and Ilkay Gundogan were the club’s most important players.
Also, in terms of the revered midfielder’s starts, he has also played from the off in more games in the Premier League this season (24) than he did in the entirety of that campaign (17), which exemplifies how much more of a key player he is currently.
