The future of Jack Grealish at Man City remains up in the air heading into the summer transfer window.
Since arriving from Aston Villa as part of a £100m deal during the summer of 2021, the winger has failed to live up to his hefty price tag, with the Englishman failing to replicate his impressive 2022/23 campaign across his other seasons at the Etihad Stadium.
Grealish is happy at Man City as several Premier League clubs remain interested in the player, such as his former club Aston Villa, Tottenham and Newcastle.
The current campaign has been a real struggle for Grealish, who has fallen down the pecking order at Man City, and that may be about to get worse as Pep Guardiola continues to push for his top target.

Jack Grealish will be worried about Florian Wirtz’s arrival at Man City
Wirtz is Guardiola’s dream target with the Spanish coach pushing to land the German talent this summer. The 22-year-old is predominantly an attacking midfielder, but can also play out wide, which are positions Grealish wants to operate in.
TalkSPORT pundit Jermaine Jenas believes the arrival of Wirtz will worry Grealish as the England international would have had plans to take over from Kevin De Bruyne in the number 10 role once the Belgian superstar had left the Etihad Stadium.
“I bet also Jack will be sat there thinking, ‘I want to play in that position’. You know, we just heard there from Kevin Hatchart saying that he (Wirtz) could play wide, but he can play midfield,” Jenas said on TalkSPORT.
“He’s got those jewel stats that seem to be very high over in the Bundesliga. So he can clearly mix it in midfield as well. But Jack would, I’m pretty sure.
“Well, I remember when Jack first went to City, and I remember thinking, right, he’s going to spend right, he’s gonna spend a couple of seasons out on that left, but you probably be waiting for, like, a De Bruyne, a Bernardo Silva to move on and think I can take one of those kind of, like two eight positions.”
Man City will not give up in the race for Wirtz as they are determined to bring the Bayer Leverkusen star to the Premier League, as he is the perfect De Bruyne replacement.
Should City get a deal over the line, it remains to be seen what happens to Grealish, as the winger’s minutes could be reduced again, which would be a disaster with the 2026 World Cup on the horizon.

The latest on Jack Grealish’s future
When it comes to the future of Grealish, the rhetoric is that the player is happy at Man City and wants to remain in Manchester next season as he loves the club.
However, the arrival of Wirtz will complicate things for the winger as the 29-year-old has only received 1520 minutes of action this season, while he has started in just one of City’s last 19 Premier League games.
| Games | Goals | Assists | Minutes |
| 31 | 3 | 5 | 1520 |
Having not been used by Guardiola in any of Man City’s last four league contests, the writing is on the wall for Grealish, as the Spanish coach is clearly sending the player a message about his future.
If the England star wants to be in Thomas Tuchel’s squad next summer, he will need to move ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, as it remains to be seen who comes calling for the £100m star.
