Jermaine Jenas hailed Phil Foden after England beat the Netherlands in the semi-final of Euro 2024.
The six-time Premier League winner was struggling to replicate his form in a Manchester City shirt at the European Championship but against Ronald Koeman’s side, Roy Keane felt Foden was “running the show” in the first-half.
Gary Lineker also stated the Manchester City attacker was “unlucky” not to get on the scoresheet — with one of his shots hitting the woodwork and the other being cleared off the line on Wednesday.
Foden also had a goal disallowed against Slovakia as he was offside while his rasping effort from outside the box against Denmark also struck the post and the ball went out of play.
Manchester City’s number 47 will hope fortune is on his side against Spain in the final of the European Championship.

What Jermaine Jenas told Phil Foden on Instagram after Euro 2024 semi-final
Foden is certainly doing all the right things by finding himself in the right positions and taking dangerous shots at goal.
At the Etihad Stadium, the Stockport-born technician’s efforts — from both close and long-range have been rewarded with goals.
Regardless, the 24-year-old felt he had his “best game” in a Three Lions shirt after the contest.
After England defeated the Netherlands and Foden took to Instagram to celebrate his team’s victory, Jermaine Jenas commented: “Complete baller” on his post.
Phil Foden brought a sense of experience to this England side against Netherlands
The decorated midfielder is one of the few players in this Three Lions side to have played in major finals and won big trophies.
That was evident against the Netherlands as Foden never seemed even fazed for a second about the fact that he was starting for England in the semi-final of the European Championship.
The Manchester City fan favourite played with a sense of patience when he seemingly felt Gareth Southgate’s side needed to exact control during the game.
However, Foden’s guile and fearlessness was also evident in the final third — as he linked up excellently with the likes of Kobbie Mainoo and Bukayo Saka in advanced areas.
England will need all their players to display the same level of ease and calmness as they face a Spain side who seem like they are unafraid to take on any team in the world and put them to the sword.
