After years of being content with their number one, it seems Manchester City might have to dip their toes into the market to sign a replacement for Ederson.
Ederson is open to joining Galatasaray and this summer, the Brazilian’s nine-year running love affair with City could finally come to an end.
Manchester City News exclusively revealed that Stefan Ortega could depart the Etihad Stadium as his camp are looking for clubs he could sign for next.
Galatasaray believe they will sign Ederson eventually and intend to delay to announce the deal once they close in on Victor Osimhen’s signing.

Luis Suarez compared Man City target Marc-Andre ter Stegen to a midfielder
As a result, Manchester City seem to be monitoring Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who Barcelona are willing to part ways with this summer.
Ter Stegen revealed Pep Guardiola wished to sign him in 2016 but the Spanish giants stood in his way of leaving at the time.
Luis Suarez, who spent six seasons playing alongside the German, lauded him, which is great news for City as the seal of approval comes from one of the best strikers of all time.
Suarez praised Manchester City target Ter Stegen, saying: “Marc is almost like another midfielder. His game with the ball at his feet is the best of any goalkeeper in the world.”
Marc-Andre ter Stegen stats compared to Ederson
Perhaps Pep Guardiola was attracted by the prospect of signing the 33-year-old because as the Uruguayan legend claimed, he is terrific in possession.
If Manchester City seriously wish to sign Ter Stegen, they will be comparing his stats over the past year to Ederson.
| STATS PER 90 | MARC-ANDRE TER STEGEN | EDERSON |
| SAVE PERCENTAGE | 66.7% | 66.4% |
| PSGXG-XA | -0.27 | +0.05 |
| CROSSES STOPPED PERCENTAGE | 9.1% | 6.1% |
| DEFENSIVE ACTIONS OUTSIDE THE PENALTY AREA | 2.59 | 1.95 |
| CLEAN SHEET PERCENTAGE | 12.5% | 33.3% |
Judging by the stats, the former Borussia Monchengladbach star is superior to the Sky Blues legend in terms of his save percentage (66.7%), the percentage of crosses he stops (9.1%) and defensive actions outside the penalty area (2.59) per game over the past 365 days.
However, Ederson trumps Ter Stegen in other metrics and as a result, despite Suarez’s high praise for his former teammate, the dilemma for Manchester City would be whether the Barcelona shotstopper is really a huge upgrade on their current number one.
