Scott Carson is set to leave Manchester City when his contract expires in June.
Bernardo Silva highlighted Carson’s influence at Manchester City as behind the scenes in terms of helping the squad maintain “high standards” by giving it his all in training.
Pep Guardiola held Carson in high esteem for being a crucial member of the squad as the Catalan felt the veteran was never “afraid” of reminding his teammates not to rest on their laurels.
The former Liverpool goalkeeper is a fan favourite amongst the Manchester City support, who have expressed their sadness at his impending exit while paying tribute to the 39-year-old.

Man City fans hail Scott Carson after his exit has been confirmed
One Manchester City fan was quick to emphasise that Scott Carson played an “underrated” role of keeping the spirits up in the dressing room; one that cannot be undermined, writing: “People are going to laugh but I feel like people like him on a team are very underrated. Guys who lift players’ spirits, bring good energy and are just a good presence to have around the team. I’m sure he’ll be missed by a lot of the players and staff.”
Another City supporter admitted that the Champions League will be missed: “He will be sadly missed in the dressing room Wish him all the best in his next chapter!”
A third Manchester City fan send a short but sweet message to Carson, stating: “End of an era. Top, top man. Cheers, Scott.”
A fourth City fan claimed that he hopes the England international is handed a coaching role at the Etihad Stadium: “Half hoping he gets a coaching role after a few holidays, maybe a year off.”
A fifth supporter pointed out how successful the Whitehaven-born shotstopper was at City, writing: “Scott Carson played 108 minutes for Manchester City…He won a trophy every 9.8 minutes.”
Finally, a sixth Manchester City fan hailed how much of a leader Carson was during his time under Pep Guardiola, stating: “Not many players can play so little and win so many honours. Carson was a massive part of the Manchester City dressing room, and has been a real leader off the pitch for City. 12 trophies won despite playing just 2 times is madness. Can’t think of many players who have that record!”
The ex-Derby County man will appreciate all the kind messages coming his way from City fans.
Manchester City ready to bid for Marcus Bettinelli as Scott Carson replacement
Kyle Walker lauded Carson’s mentality of being a hard worker on a daily basis despite knowing he will rarely get a chance to play, a mindset that perhaps rubbed off on his teammates.
With Juanma Lillo leaving Manchester City as well, this summer looks set to be one where plenty of upheaval will occur.
Manchester City are ready to sign Marcus Bettinelli and submit a bid imminently to sign him as their replacement for Carson.
City appreciate the Chelsea goalkeeper because he has the experience of being third-choice in net, having signed for the Blues in 2021 as well fulfilling the homegrown quota being English.
