Man City fans share how they actually feel after ‘club say no’ to signing Rodrygo

Manchester City look ready to pass up on the chance of signing Real Madrid winger Rodrygo Goes.

After being linked with the Brazilian’s signature for months, Manchester City insiders denied their interest in Rodrygo, as journalist Jack Gaughan revealed the “club say no” about the possibility of a move.

The two-time Champions League winner is proven at the highest level, known for stepping up to the plate in Europe and helping Real Madrid win three La Liga titles during his time in the Spanish capital.

Rodrygo was waiting to join Manchester City despite Arsenal being ready to secure his services.

A majority of Manchester City fans are delighted that the decision-makers at the Etihad Stadium are against the move, with the minority being upset that they are not keen on signing the 24-year-old.

Most Man City fans happy that the club don’t want to sign Rodrygo

One Manchester City fan claimed that while other supporters are focused on how Rodrygo could be an upgrade on both Jeremy Doku and Savinho, Omar Marmoush has already made his mark on the left-wing: “When people think of Rodrygo, they always end up moaning about Savio and Doku. When in reality, we have already signed Marmoush in January.”

Another supporter claimed that Pep Guardiola has enough wide players at his disposal, making the former Santos forward’s addition unnecessary: “We have enough wingers already….. I don’t get why [some] Man City fans are obsessed with Rodrygo.”

A third Manchester City fan claimed that they need a right-back instead of Rodrygo, writing: We need a RB, not Rodrygo. Right-back. Hope that doesn’t get lost in translation.”

A fourth fan explained that the fans that would like the decorated winger to be signed do not realise that he is at his best as a number 10 or a second striker: “Yes, because they haven’t clocked that Rodrygo is actually a second striker, [number] 10-type [of player] but let them figure it out for themselves.”

However, some supporters disagreed with City’s decision, with one writing: “I don’t know why people don’t understand that Rodrygo is a final, finished product and we need him in City shirt.”

Finally, a sixth Manchester City fan expressed his disappointment at the club’s seeming lack of interest in Rodrygo, stating: “I’ve just seen that Man City isn’t interested in Rodrygo and the majority of City fans are happy about it. Moving forward, I don’t want to see any complaining when Savinho misses easy chances or Doku dribbles without a good end product.”

Largely, however, it seems like the supporters and the board are on the same wavelength.

Manchester City want to sign Premier League star

Manchester City fans will be hoping that Pep Guardiola is given the chance to further bolster his squad after the FIFA Club World Cup despite them not being keen on signing Rodrygo.

Tino Livramento is Manchester City’s dream target to replace Kyle Walker, who is set to leave this summer.

However, Newcastle are unwilling to sell Livramento and after having qualified for the Champions League next season, they have no incentive to let go of one of their best players.
