Morgan Gibbs-White has been a big topic of discussion during the current transfer window.
It looked like Gibbs-White was certain to be a Man City player at one point during the summer; however, Pep Guardiola opted to recruit Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki instead, which all but ended the Manchester club’s interest in the Premier League midfielder.
That cleared the way for Tottenham to move for the Nottingham Forest star, but with the Midlands club submitting a complaint regarding an illegal approach from Spurs, that has left the future of the 25-year-old up in the air until that matter is resolved.
Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is hoping Manchester City return for Gibbs-White, but the Citizens’ plans for the remainder of the transfer window are clear.

Manchester City have no plans to sign another midfielder
Man City have been offered the chance to sign Gibbs-White again amid the controversy surrounding his move to Tottenham, but the Manchester club do not intend to add the 25-year-old to their midfield options before the Premier League gets underway next month.
Manchester Evening News are reporting that Man City have no further plans to sign another midfielder this summer despite the new links to Gibbs-White and the fact that the England star is now available for a reduced fee of £60m.
The Manchester club’s main focus at present is to trim Guardiola’s squad, with Kalvin Phillips, Jack Grealish, and James McAtee all set to leave over the coming weeks.
Nottingham Forest are one of the clubs interested in McAtee, and the Midlands club plan to sign the 22-year-old even if they keep hold of Gibbs-White for another season.
An exit could also be on the cards for one of two players Guardiola is happy to keep at the Etihad Stadium, as it is becoming necessary that the Spanish coach’s squad is reduced in size.

Nico Gonzalez or Ilkay Gundogan could still leave Man City
There has been a lot of talk around Nico Gonzalez leaving Man City this summer, as the midfielder is not a key player for Guardiola ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
The Spaniard is not expected to leave England, but Manchester Evening News states that it is still a possibility, along with Ilkay Gundogan.
Galatasaray have shown interest in Gundogan this summer, who has just one year remaining on his current City contract, but the German star has already made it clear that he wishes to see that deal out.
Only time will tell if either midfield star leaves, but something will have to give at Man City, as not everyone can remain at the Premier League club when the transfer window shuts.
