Carlo Ancelotti’s time at Real Madrid is coming to an end.
The legendary coach’s second spell in charge of the La Liga giants saw great success return to the Bernabeu as Los Blancos won everything under the Italian coach, however, the current campaign is set to end trophyless.
As a result, Real Madrid are set to part ways with Ancelotti at the end of the season, leaving the 65-year-old wondering what he could have done differently throughout the current campaign.
The Madrid boss failed to make the pieces fit after last summer’s additions, while injuries played a key role in their struggles, and in order to help with that, the La Liga giants were offered a Man City star during the January transfer window.

Man City’s Kyle Walker was offered to Real Madrid
Real Madrid have been without Dani Carvajal for the majority of the 2024/25 campaign after the Euro 2024 winner picked up a serious knee injury during the first half of the season.
This had a big impact on results and, therefore, the Spanish giants considered signing a new full-back during the January window.
According to The Athletic, Man City’s Kyle Walker was offered to Real Madrid on a loan deal, but the club did not even respond to the gesture.

Instead, Los Blancos tried to sign Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold as the England star was their top target, however, the Spanish club were made to wait until the summer as the Reds did not want to let the right-back go mid-season.
Ancelotti is a fan of many Man City stars as he was keen to bring Rodri to Real Madrid last summer, however, the Italian did not seem to fancy Walker, despite his injury issues.
January was a busy month between both clubs as Man City considered a move for Federico Valverde following Rodri’s serious injury, but that was a deal the La Liga side were never going to entertain.
What is the latest on Kyle Walker’s future
Instead of Real Madrid, Walker joined AC Milan on loan in January, and it remains to be seen if the Italian giants make the signing permanent this summer.
Even if the Serie A club do not make this move, Walker will still leave Man City this summer, states Fabrizio Romano, but it remains to be seen where the 34-year-old ends up.
The Englishman was a huge hit at the Etihad Stadium having joined from Tottenham as part of a £50m deal in 2017, with the right-back going on to become one of the best in his position in Premier League history.
Walker is unlikely to get the send-off Kevin De Bruyne will get against Bournemouth, but Man City fans will not forget what the defender did for their club over the last eight years.
