Despite Erling Haaland already having had incredible campaigns in the past that could stand the test of time, he could be able to surpass his previous body of work this season.
Haaland broke Wayne Rooney’s record (eight goals) of scoring the most goals (nine goals) a player ever has in the first four games of a Premier League season after his brace against Brentford.
Jason Cundy praised Haaland by claiming that he is “making a mockery of the Premier League” and especially this campaign, he certainly is making scoring goals look like child’s play and that too at an unprecedented rate so far.
The Manchester City striker came up against a Brentford side that were well-organised, tactically disciplined and hard to beat.
But it seems like any stipulations do not seem to apply towards the £375,000-a-week man.
If Haaland is given an inch close to the goal, he ends up taking a mile and capitalising.

Akanji reveals potential secret to why Man City superstar is in scary form
In August, Pep Guardiola revealed Haaland is “sharper” this season due to being well-rested during the summer where Norway failed to qualify for Euro 2024 and finally feels fully fit.
The Catalan tactician had claimed that during the previous campaign, the Norwegian constantly felt sore and had niggles and subsequently, a serious injury which meant he started only 29 league games.
It seems like a summer of rest has also benefited Mohamed Salah, who is bang in form for Liverpool this season.
Elite-level players often do not get a significant chunk of the year to sit back and relax due to being vital for both club and country.
As a result, a summer break might have played a huge role in the 24-year-old’s form this campaign.
But Manuel Akanji has also revealed that Haaland is much more involved in Manchester City’s game as a whole this season.
Akanji said via Manchester Evening News journalist Simon Bajkowski: “It’s hard to say as he’s been scoring so many goals for us since he joined but I think this season, he is more involved in the game.”
“He’s holding up the ball really well for the team.”
“But nine goals in four Premier League games too. I just hope he keeps scoring like this because he’s really good help for us. Even when it’s a tougher game, we just have to do our job in defence and know the guys up front will help us. I hope he can keep going.”
Last month, Pep Guardiola claimed Haaland has to press relentlessly in every game — regardless of whether he scores or not — as he believes the star striker will feel a lot sharper due to his constant involvement during a contest.
Erling Haaland might feel sharper due to increased involvement
With the two-time Premier League winner being more involved off-the-ball while also linking and holding up the ball a lot more and better this season, he could be feeling sharper during games.
As a result, when Haaland is presented with a chance, his previous business during a game might make him feel sharper and due to this being the case, he has especially been clinical.
It seems like this very reason is why the signs seem to point towards the Leeds-born goalscorer having unlocked the most frightening version of himself.
Considering Haaland has picked up injuries in the past, whether his workload is decreased as the season progresses will be interesting to see.
But so far, it seems like the prolific marksman has been tested to up his game and he is doing so effortlessly.
