Pep Guardiola was quizzed about whether he spoke to Kevin De Bruyne about his future at Manchester City.
Last week, Guardiola confirmed that De Bruyne will stay at City next season.
It was claimed last Monday that the Manchester City vice-captain was tempted to join Al-Ittihad due to the offer they presented to him.
The £54.5 million man has been linked with moves to the Saudi Arabia throughout the summer until Pep Guardiola’s confirmation about his plans for the following campaign.
Despite Guardiola’s recent revelation, it is yet to be confirmed whether De Bruyne will extend his contract beyond 2025.

Pep Guardiola reveals how he knows Kevin De Bruyne will stay at Man City
On Friday, it was reported that the Belgian captain could sign for CFG’s New York City FC next year if he departs the Etihad Stadium on a free transfer at the end of next season.
Last Wednesday, it was also claimed that De Bruyne rejected moves to Saudi Arabia due to family reasons.
The midfield maestro did not wish to uproot his family while also being hesitant to change his oldest son’s school.
When quizzed about whether he spoke to De Bruyne that led to him confirming he will stay at Manchester City next season, Guardiola revealed that the club told him that they had not received an offer for his services.
The Catalan said via the club’s official YouTube channel: “No but the club informed me that they didn’t get any offer. So, to leave, they have to get an offer. I don’t know what’s going to happen but I would love, of course, [if] he stays.”
“He’s the eldest person, eldest player here [in terms of having been at Manchester City for nine years], he was here before I arrived, I’m the second oldest.”
“It’s important but you know, it’s [like] what happened with David [Silva], for example and other players. He won the credit to decide his future for his family, for himself, so, what he has done for our club is massive. That’s why he has to decide but the info I have right now is he’s going to stay.”
Pep Guardiola will be delighted that Kevin De Bruyne looks set to stay
It seems like Guardiola is confident De Bruyne will stay at Manchester City next season.
The two-time treble-winning manager must be delighted as the 33-year-old remains arguably his best player, despite missing a majority of City’s games last season due to injury.
Pep Guardiola would be hoping to keep De Bruyne fired up to play his best possible football, especially after Belgium’s disappointing exit from the Round of 16 of Euro 2024.
The six-time Premier League-winning midfielder’s genius has given the Sky Blues an edge over the rest; an advantage Guardiola will be hoping to use to his side’s benefit to win a fifth successive Premier League title.
Ultimately, Manchester City should resist any possible offers for their talismanic creator this summer as finding a replacement for him is a process that should begin around a year before his exit; such is his greatness and importance to the Sky Blues.
