Real Madrid exited the Champions League on Wednesday night at the hands of Arsenal.
The 15-time winners were comfortably beaten over the two legs with the Gunners advancing to the semi-finals with an aggregate scoreline of 5-1.
With Carlo Ancelotti’s side also trailing Barcelona in La Liga, should Los Blancos fail to become Spanish champions again, that normally means changes at the Bernabeu, with the Italian coach likely to be the first.
A big problem the 65-year-old has had this season is finding balance in his Real Madrid team and the La Liga champions may look to bring that back by signing a Man City star in the future.

Erling Haaland may still end up at Real Madrid
Real Madrid have had some exceptional number nines in recent years and much of the La Liga champions’ success has come as a result of the superstar in that role performing – Karim Benzema’s 2021/22 being a prime example.
Kylian Mbappe has been used as a striker this season by Ancelotti, but the natural winger has struggled to step up in big games in that role.
As a result, talkSPORT pundit Danny Murphy believes Real Madrid will come for Erling Haaland in the future, despite the Norwegian star signing a new eight-year contract at Man City recently, which the Haaland family were happy to sign.
“There’s always an exception, Stevie (Gerrard) didn’t go when he could’ve, but there’s not many who’ve turned down Real Madrid,” Murphy said on talkSPORT.
To which Simon Jordan replied: “Haaland hasn’t gone though, has he? He’s signed an eight-year contract at Man City.”
“Well, he still might, as a generic rule, I know, but the evidence suggests that all of the best players end up there,” Murphy said.
Man City have not feared Haaland leaving in the past and the Manchester club will feel the same about the near future, with everyone’s focus at present being to get the £51m signing back fit for the end of the season.

Man City can expect Erling Haaland back soon
Haaland has been out of action for Man City since the striker limped off in the Manchester club’s 2-1 FA Cup win over Bournemouth at the end of March.
The 24-year-old has not been at his best this season, however, the Norwegian has still been a key player for Pep Guardiola as he has produced 30 goals and four assists across the 40 matches he has played for City.
Haaland has provided an update on his fitness this week with the City star posting a video of himself running to his personal Instagram story, before saying into the camera, “We’re getting there!”
This is great news for Man City fans, as even though this season has been a disappointment, winning the FA Cup and qualifying for the Champions League would be a positive way to enter the 2025/26 campaign.
