Well – according to the Daily Star – the Brazil international is an option for Manchester City in the January transfer window if Kalvin Phillips departs the Etihad Stadium, which he is expected to do.
Guardiola now has a fantastic opportunity to scout Andre in the flesh when Manchester City take on Fluminense this Friday, and the Spaniard has praised the 22-year-old ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup final.
He said: “They play very well with the ball, they come together a lot, they have quality players, such as Andre. I have a vague idea. From (Wednesday) I’m going to focus on Fluminense to see the what we have to do.”
If Manchester City can defeat Andre and his Fluminense side on Friday, the Citizens will secure themselves a tidy cash prize and also the FIFA Champions Badge.
Manchester City face competition to sign Andre
Manchester City are not the only side keen to sign Andre in January.
A story by ESPN claimed that Liverpool will wait for the South American after failing with a summer bid for his signature, while Fulham are also in the race to sign him.
