Pep Guardiola has now praised Fluminense No.7 Andre ahead of Friday’s FIFA Club World Cup final – a player Manchester City want to sign.
The 52-year-old was quoted by UOL.
So, what did Pep Guardiola say about Manchester City target Andre? Let’s take a look…
What Guardiola said about Andre
Well – according to the Daily Star – the Brazil international is an option for Manchester City in the January transfer window if Kalvin Phillips departs the Etihad Stadium, which he is expected to do.
Guardiola now has a fantastic opportunity to scout Andre in the flesh when Manchester City take on Fluminense this Friday, and the Spaniard has praised the 22-year-old ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup final.
He said: “They play very well with the ball, they come together a lot, they have quality players, such as Andre. I have a vague idea. From (Wednesday) I’m going to focus on Fluminense to see the what we have to do.”

If Manchester City can defeat Andre and his Fluminense side on Friday, the Citizens will secure themselves a tidy cash prize and also the FIFA Champions Badge.
Manchester City face competition to sign Andre
Manchester City are not the only side keen to sign Andre in January.
A story by ESPN claimed that Liverpool will wait for the South American after failing with a summer bid for his signature, while Fulham are also in the race to sign him.
Of course, Manchester City’s status as treble winners should put them right at the front of the queue for Andre if this interest is genuine, although Liverpool do pose a real threat.

Jürgen Klopp is without a No.6 in midfield after selling Fabinho, so Andre will have a better chance of regular starts at Anfield, which may tempt him.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as anything could happen in January.
