It was claimed in December that while the Spaniard was yet to decide his future, he was not intending to prolong his spell at the Etihad Stadium at the time.

In November, the £378,846-a-week coach said (via BeanymanSports) that it is likelier that he would stay at City if his side were relegated to League One than if they lifted the Champions League.
However, those within the club believe Guardiola’s admission is not merely a case of a public outburst but instead, a likely outcome.
Of course, the alleged financial breaches from 2009 to 2018 occurred for a majority of the time when Guardiola was not even the club’s manager.
