Scott Minto claims Man City have someone who can do things on the pitch ‘people can only dream about’

Manchester City have become accustomed to winning titles in recent years.

Specifically, since Pep Guardiola took charge of the Manchester club back in 2016, City have gone on to win 15 major trophies in total.

This goes to show how strong City’s first-team squad is and how much Guardiola has been able to get out of his players in terms of challenging for titles consistently.

In his ninth season at the Etihad Stadium, the 53-year-old is aiming to see his side become the first side to win five consecutive Premier League titles.

However, Guardiola said winning five consecutive Premier League titles with City doesn’t excite him as much as winning four in a row did.

Now though, one of Guardiola’s key players, who has played a vital role in the club’s recent successes, has been hailed by a pundit who knows what it takes to play in the top flight.

Scott Minto makes Erling Haaland prediction

When asked if he thinks Erling Haaland will break his Premier League goals record from his debut City season this term, Scott Minto said this on talkSPORT (9/10 7:26 PM) in response.

He said: “That was a lot. What I would say is that he’s had the summer off, he looks as sharp as he’s ever been and I think there is every chance that he could.

“I think he’ll hit 30, whether he’ll get more than 36, I don’t know.

“One thing you do say about Erling Haaland is that he can have an injury, and he can be out for a time.

“I’m not sure if he’s ever had a full season out, you don’t always need it [with] Erling Haaland because he can still hit numbers that people can only dream about over three or four seasons in half a season.

“If they keep him fit, I think that 36 [goal] record could go. If they don’t, it’s still going to be late twenties, early thirties.

“It looks like the summer has really refreshed him, where there was a lot of players who played in the Euros who still look like they’re trying to get their mojo back.”

Alan Shearer said Haaland ‘can do everything’

In his debut season at City, Haaland scored 36 goals in 35 Premier League games, breaking multiple records in the process.

This makes it easy to see why Minto thinks many other players could only dream about doing what the Norwegian does on the pitch.

With seven league appearances to his name in this latest campaign, the 24-year-old has bagged 10 goals.

As someone who knows all about scoring goals, Alan Shearer praised Haaland’s unpredictability by saying this after the striker scored his goal in City’s 4-0 win over Slovan Bratislava.

He said: “You’re the opposition as a goalkeeper. You look at who you’re playing against and what they tend to like to do.

“It’s like they haven’t got a clue what he’s going to do one-v-one with a goalkeeper. He can do everything as you’ve just said. Brilliant.”

Having registered more shots at goal (34) and shots on target (22) than any other player in the Premier League at this stage of the season, there’s a big chance Haaland could equal or break his record this year.
