Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has faced off against many managers during his time at the club.
One of those managers is Brentford boss Thomas Frank, who has faced off against the City boss on seven occasions.
Out of Guardiola’s seven meetings with Frank’s Brentford side, City have won five and lost two.
With the Blues set to take on the Bees one more time in this latest Premier League campaign, it could end up being the last between the two managers in their current roles.
This is because Guardiola’s contract with the Manchester club is set to expire in the summer.
With Guardiola recently saying he has not made a decision about his City future, Frank has shared his thoughts about the possibility of seeing the Catalan bring an end to his time with the Blues.

Thomas Frank addresses potential Pep Guardiola exit
In a recent interview with talkSPORT, Frank said this when asked if he’d be disappointed if Guardiola left City at the end of the season.
He said: “No. I think first and foremost, it’s his choice and if he thinks it’s the right choice he should do that.
“Pep has done everything he can over here. Incredible how he keeps the hunger and keeps going. I don’t know what he’s thinking is it if he wants to try something new or whatever, I don’t know.”
Guardiola is a big fan of Frank
After seeing City beat Brentford 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium earlier this season, Guardiola said this (via BBC Sport) when asked if he’s surprised Frank has not been appointed at a top European club yet.
He said: “It is just a question of time. I’m good in a few things, one of which is reading when the manager is good. It is going to happen.”
With Guardiola winning 230 of the 311 Premier League matches he’s overlooked as City’s manager, it’s easy to see why Frank may want to see the 53-year-old call it a day at the club and bring an end to his dominance of the league.
Having also won six Premier League trophies with the Citizens, Frank may not be the only top-flight manager who could be pleased if Guardiola were to not extend his contract
Even though the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss said he still doesn’t know what his future will hold, Danny Murphy claimed that Guardiola has actually already decided to stay at City beyond this season.
This would undeniably be the ideal outcome for the city supporters given how much success Guardiola has led their club to since his arrival in 2016.
Moving forward, if an answer about the manager’s future comes to light sooner rather than later, this would be the best way to put an end to the speculation and put the focus back on the football.
