The January transfer deadline is fast approaching for Man City who could yet make moves in the window with just hours to go.
Manchester City have recruited smartly this month by signing Alex Alcala from LA Galaxy for an undisclosed fee and Claudio Echeverri, who has joined for £12.5m before being loaned back to River Plate for the rest of the campaign.
FFP regulations have restrained the likes of City and other Premier League clubs from spending big this window. But fans will be hoping Pep Guardiola and his recruitment may now find the wiggle room to squeeze in another addition or two between now and tonight.
Here, Manchester City News take a look at three possible transfers Man City could still complete this January transfer deadline day.
Savio

Savio plies his trade with La Liga table-toppers Girona at the moment, but is only on loan from Ligue 2 side Troyes – both clubs are part of the City Football Group.
The Brazilian teenage attacker has been lighting up the Spanish top-flight this season having scored seven goals and assisted seven in 26 games so far [Transfermarkt].
Savio has been likened to fellow compatriot Vinicius Junior and can be seen as a very attractive prospect financially.
One report claimed last week that Man City now lead the race to sign him from Troyes and would need only spend £10m for him. Real Madrid have also been linked but the same report states the Spanish giants would need to fork out £30m for Savio’s signature.
The Brazil U20 international has already spoken twice about his ambition to eventually move up the City Football Group ladder and sign for Pep Guardiola’s side so this is a deal that is an extremely realistic proposition.
The only stumbling block would be his current loan at Girona and an agreement would have to be struck – likely involving some form of compensation – for that to be cut short.
Gabriel Misehouy

The potential capture of Jong Ajax prospect Gabriel Misehouy presents itself as another doable deal for Man City this month.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder is ripping it up with the Ajax youth side this season having netted seven goals and laid on three [Transfermarkt] for his teammates in the Dutch second tier.
But he reportedly wants to leave the club because he feels he isn’t getting as many first-team opportunities as he should be.
That has opened the door for a possible exit and the same report suggested Man City and fellow CFG club Girona are interested in Misehouy’s services.
Misehouy is said to have been banished from Ajax training because he failed to meet a deadline over a contract renewal decision and now has hired renowned agent Pini Zahavi to pinpoint his next move.
As we suggested in the above linked piece, City could swoop in to sign him permanently before the window shuts today and then loan him out to Girona where he could get a taste of top-level football at a club that is vying for the La Liga title.
Alan Varela

Defensive midfielder Alan Varela reportedly caught Manchester City’s eye this month thanks to his impressive performances with Porto this season.
In fact, the Argentinian 22-year-old has contributed to four Porto goals in his last two games [Fotmob] so is clearly flying high with the Liga Portugal giants.
One report dropped last week claiming City have approached Porto over Varela, who has a £60m release clause. Porto are said to be uninterested in selling their midfielder this month but if City can activate the release clause, proper talks can commence.
Unfortunately, unlike the previous two players listed above, this is a hefty deal to sanction in January and with FFP on the back of every club owners’ minds, City will probably veer clear for now.
But with Kalvin Phillips now on loan at West Ham United, there is a space to be filled as Rodri’s deputy for the second-half of the campaign…
