Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips may not leave the club until later in the window, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
Phillips remains a City player for now but in recent weeks there has been a lot of speculation about the star’s future.
Phillips has hardly featured for City, with Pep Guardiola once again showing unwavering faith in Rodri as his holding midfielder.
The 27-year-old has been linked with the likes of Juventus and Newcastle, but so far nobody has come in with an offer for Phillips – and it may be that his departure happens later rather than sooner…
Kalvin Phillips could leave Manchester City late in the window

Yesterday, journalist Alan Nixon took to X to answer questions from people about players.
Somebody asked him ‘Think Phillips will push for a move so he gets minutes pre-euros? Palace have a history of loan players getting in the England squad’.
Nixon replied ‘Man City demands are high … that’s a late one for someone …’
Previously, it has been suggested that City would be looking for a fee of around £5 million for Phillips.
It has also been reported that the club would hope to bank around £40 million from any sale of the player. That would be amazing business considering how little he has played since his £42 million move to the club.
Patience required over Phillips
So it could be that Phillips does not leave it until right at the end of the window.
Clearly, City are holding firm with their demands hoping that a club will meet them – and the club can afford to do that, since he doesn’t really need replacing.
It’s now about seeing whether there’s a club out there that can meet what City are asking for.
Quite possibly, City could end up lowering their demands at the end of the window if no one has come in for £150,000-a-week star Phillips. It would not be nice to see the payer fail to secure a move because the demands for him were too high.
The ‘intelligent’ Phillips absolutely needs to leave and go to a club where he’ll play regularly, with Euro 2024 taking place this summer.
