It has been reported that Manchester City are preparing a new bid to sign Lucas Paqueta from West Ham United shortly.

This comes from Fabrizio Romano after it was claimed on Tuesday that the treble-winners will most certainly bid for the Brazilian once again.

Now, it seems like Manchester City are readying up yet another bid to sign Lucas Paqueta this summer.

It was reported last Wednesday that Pep Guardiola has ‘always been a fan’ of the 25-year-old, and was keen on signing him in 2022 as well.

Interestingly, it was also revealed on the same day that the former Lyon midfielder, branded as ‘mind-boggling’ by Declan Rice (via Evening Standard) is dying to join the seven-time Premier League winners.

Now, it has been claimed that Manchester City are working on a new bid to sign Lucas Paqueta that they intend to submit within 24 to 48 hours.

Clearly, the Sky Blues are desperate to ensure that the silky technician makes his way to the Etihad Stadium imminently.

Kevin De Bruyne’s injury makes signing Lucas Paqueta a priority

With Pep Guardiola confirming on Tuesday that Kevin De Bruyne is set to be injured for three to four months and requires surgery, it has become a priority for Manchester City to wrap up a deal for Lucas Paqueta.

Minus the Belgian maestro, City lack a lot of creativity in their side as a whole and especially in the middle of the park.

Barring Phil Foden, the likes of Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic are more adept at controlling the tempo of games rather than carving out chances.

Paqueta, on the other hand is capable of chipping in with goals, setting up his teammates, beating defenders for fun and stitching attacks in all areas of the pitch with his eyes closed.
