Manchester City are loving the reports they have been getting back from Middlesbrough about their 18-year-old talent Sverre Nypan.
Man City signed Nypan during the summer as part of a £12.5m deal with Rosenborg, and the Premier League giants were delighted with the acquisition, with Fabrizio Romano stating that they believe they have signed one of the best talents in Europe.
The plan for Nypan was always to send the 18-year-old out on loan straight away to gain experience, and City thought Middlesbrough was the best option for the youngster to develop his game in England.
That looks to have been the correct decision from the Manchester club, as everyone at Middlesbrough is happy with the Norwegian star, while Man City are also loving what they are hearing back about the midfielder from the Championship side.

Man City are loving Sverre Nypan reports from Middlesbrough
There were several clubs interested in a loan move for Nypan during the summer transfer window; however, Man City felt Middlesbrough were the best option as the Championship club would be the perfect step before playing in the Premier League.
This looks like it was the correct decision as Rob Edwards’ side are flying at the top of the Championship, and the mood around the Riverside Stadium is very positive at the moment, which is benefiting Nypan.
Manchester City News’ transfer expert, Graeme Bailey, has provided an update on Nypan at Boro, stating that the youngster is impressing everyone at the Championship club and that City are loving the reports coming back to them about the midfielder.
“Sverre Nypan has made a huge impression at Boro – the fans are loving what they have seen, full of skill, but his passion and commitment,” Bailey said about Nypan.
“Middlesbrough fans will take to any player, if they show commitment and for someone so young to be showing his drive for the game is pretty special.
“Equally, I am also told that he has been great in training; it was known how soon he would be ready, but for Rob Edwards to start him in their last game just shows the level he is already at.
“City are keeping tabs on him and again, I am told they are loving what they are hearing, but they are leaving him to settle into life and get on with his time at Boro, and that is very much working for all parties at the moment.”
Everything is currently going to plan for Nypan, and it won’t be long before the Norwegian star cements a place in Middlesbrough’s starting XI.
Sverre Nypan’s career at Middlesbrough so far
Since joining Middlesbrough in August, Nypan has gone on to play for the Championship club on four occasions and has yet to produce a goal contribution.
Boro’s 2-1 win over West Brom last Friday was the first time the Norwegian started a game for his new club, and if the youngster is in the team against Southampton on Saturday, there is a good chance he has worked his way into Edwards’ best XI.
Although it is hard to compile stats on Nypan with the youngster only starting one match, there are positives, as the midfielder has a pass accuracy rate of 80.3%, has completed 60% of his dribbles, and has won 55% of his duels.
The signs indicate that Man City have signed a future star, but only time will tell how the Norwegian develops from here.
