Since heading to the Premier League, Erling Haaland has raised the bar in such an unprecedented manner that he could be remembered in the same vein as legendary strikers like Thierry Henry and Luis Suarez.
Season in, season out, Haaland has shown no signs of relinquishing his throne as the league’s most feared frontman.
Even this campaign, the Manchester City marksman still has a healthy lead over the other in-form goalscorers in the division.
| PLAYER | PREMIER LEAGUE GOALS THIS SEASON |
| ERLING HAALAND | 11 |
| BRYAN MBUEMO | 8 |
| CHRIS WOOD | 8 |
| COLE PALMER | 7 |
| MOHAMED SALAH | 7 |
| NICOLAS JACKSON | 6 |
| DANNY WELBECK | 6 |
| LIAM DELAP | 5 |
| LUIS DIAZ | 5 |
| OLLIE WATKINS | 5 |
Despite failing to score in four league games this season, Haaland (11) has outscored the joint second-highest goalscorers in Bryan Mbuemo and Chris Wood (eight) by three goals so far.
Pep Guardiola will naturally be satisfied with the 24-year-old’s showings this campaign.
So far, Haaland is scoring 1.1 goals per game this season.

Les Ferdinand says Sergio Aguero was an “all-round better player” than Erling Haaland
If the two-time Premier League winner continues to operate at the same level, he could end the season with 36 goals to his name.
Matt Holland backed Haaland to usurp his own record of 36 goals by scoring 37 in the league this season; a feat that would require him to score 26 more strikes in 28 games.
When quizzed about whether Haaland or Sergio Aguero is the superior striker, Les Ferdinand simply pointed out out that in his opinion, the former was the better all-round player.
On Sky Sports, Ferdinand said: “You can’t take away his goalscoring attributes and what he’s done. If you’re asking me who’s the all-round better player, I’d say Aguero was the all-round better player but [Erling] Haaland’s probably the better goalscorer.”
Les Ferdinand named Aguero as superior to Didier Drogba as well as he felt the five-time Premier League winner simply had everything to his game.
Previously, Nathan Ake raved about Aguero’s all-round game as well while reflecting on his experience playing against the decorated marksman.
Virgil van Dijk named Sergio Aguero as a “handful” and one of the toughest centre-forwards he has ever come up against as well.
Haaland claimed Aguero is “the greatest” striker to have ever donned the City shirt as well.
Kevin De Bruyne named Aguero as the “best all-round striker” he has ever played with
Kevin De Bruyne also hailed Aguero as the most completed number nine he has ever played wuth.
“Honestly, Kun is probably the best all-round striker I’ve played with. Just everything. He had speed, power, could go deep, could go short, left or right, headers… he was unbelievable. So, so good.”
The Belgian has played alongside Haaland, Didier Drogba, Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto’o and Romelu Lukaku.
However, even De Bruyne could not help but appreciate how well-rounded Aguero’s game was.
The Argentine’s completeness was well and truly one of a kind.
As a result, it is tough to look past Aguero for many when compared to other strikers when comparing their respective all-roundedness as players.
