Manchester City’s transfer business may not be done ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Pep Guardiola planned to add four to five new players to his squad over the summer, and Man City have already hit that target before the Manchester club travelled to the United States for the FIFA Club World Cup.
Fabrizio Romano thinks a right-back is next on the agenda at Man City, and it has been reported that Newcastle’s Tino Livramento is Guardiola’s top target for the role.
Man City will find it hard to lure the Englishman to the Etihad Stadium over the coming weeks, and the latest update on the full-back’s future has all but killed any chance of the 22-year-old leaving Newcastle ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Tino Livramento is not leaving Newcastle
Livramento was Man City’s top target to address their issues at right-back heading into the summer transfer window, as the Manchester club knew they would need to replace Kyle Walker at the Etihad Stadium.
It was reported on Tuesday that Newcastle have no intention of selling Livramento over the coming weeks and that a bid of £165 million would not even be enough to lure the full-back away from Tyneside.
This is a big blow for City, as right-back remains an issue for Guardiola, and the legendary coach does not have many alternatives for the English defender.
Hugo Viana will be scouring the market for a good deal for a right-back before the 2025/26 campaign gets underway in August, and it remains to be seen if the perfect full-back emerges out of nowhere over the coming weeks.
One thing is clear: Man City fans know exactly who they want to take over from Walker.

Man City fans want their club to sign Denzel Dumfries
There has been a lot of speculation around the future of Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries recently, as the Dutch international has a release clause worth £22m (€25m) in his current contract, which is valid until mid-July.
With Man City learning that the signing of Livramento is next to impossible ahead of the new season, fans of the club have called for the Manchester outfit to make a move for Dumfries before his clause expires.
One Man City fan wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter): “Dumfries now, then buy a young right-back (maybe Livramento) in two years.”
Another City supporter simply said: “Dumfries no-brainer”.
While a final Man City fan added: “Newcastle treat him (Livramento) like he’s the second coming of Dani Alves. Let’s just get Dumfries and explore again in the next 3-4 years.”
Man City are not currently interested in Dumfries, but that could change over the coming weeks as the new season grows closer.
