Despite making five signings already this summer, Manchester City are seemingly on the market to add more fresh faces to their squad.
James Trafford has caught Manchester City’s eye and with Ederson set to join Galatasaray, the Englishman could be in line to take the Brazilian’s place as the Sky Blues’ next number one.
Trafford’s head has been turned by Manchester City and it seems like the Burnley goalkeeper could return to the Etihad Stadium.
Newcastle United wish to extend Tino Livramento’s contract beyond 2028 to fend off the interest from City in his signature as they are in the hunt to sign a brand-new right-back.
Man City have enquired about signing Barcelona star Jules Kounde
Considering Kyle Walker has signed for Burnley already, the Sky Blues find themselves in a tricky position.
Matheus Nunes has impressed Pep Guardiola but the midfielder is not a world-class right-back in the same vein as Walker and the same can be said for Rico Lewis.
Perhaps as a result, RMC Sport have revealed that Manchester City and another unnamed top club have enquired about signing Barcelona defender Jules Kounde.

The French international’s contract expires in 2027 and the Spanish giants, who view him as the best right-back in the world have been working behind the scenes for several weeks to extend his deal.
While all parties involved hope Kounde puts pen to paper, Manchester City have tried their luck by making an enquiry to sign the £41.8 million (BBC Sport) man.
Ilkay Gundogan’s record with Jules Kounde at Barcelona
The former Sevilla star has been hugely influential in Hansi Flick’s side, forming a deadly duo with Lamine Yamal down the right flank.
Despite being a centre-back by trade, the 26-year-old has developed going forward as well, as was demonstrated in the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid where he scored a late winner from outside the box.
One Manchester City player who knows how good Kounde is Ilkay Gundogan in particular, who played him at Barcelona.
| ILKAY GUNDOGAN AND JULES KOUNDE’S BARCELONA RECORD | |
| APPEARANCES | 46 |
| WINS | 31 |
| DRAWS | 7 |
| LOSSES | 8 |
| JOINT-GOAL PARTICIPATION | 1 |
Gundogan and Kounde played 46 games in tandem, winning 31, drawing seven and losing eight.
The pair were even involved in one goal as a duo, assisted by the German and if City ramp up their efforts to sign the defender, they will likely be consulting the veteran before doing so.
