Manchester City currently have a player who is “unstoppable” and he showed that once again in their Carabao Cup Third Round clash with Huddersfield on Wednesday night.

Pep Guardiola’s men travelled to the Accu Stadium looking to continue their recent run of positive form, with Man City having not lost to a League One club since 2018 when they were defeated by Wigan in the FA Cup.

Guardiola was expected to make changes for the Huddersfield clash, and that proved to be the case, with the legendary coach picking a strong team for the cup match.

The Man City boss included one star who has impressed in recent games, and Guardiola has now been told that he has become “unstoppable”.

Phil Foden is unstoppable at his best

Phil Foden has been key to Man City’s success in recent days, with the England international starring against Man United and Napoli, scoring in both matches.

Man City are ready to offer Foden a new contract, and it is not hard to see why, as the midfielder ran the show in the first half against Huddersfield, scoring a stunning goal with 18 minutes on the clock.

Speaking about the 25-year-old’s opening 45 minutes, pundit Sue Smith stated that Foden is currently playing at a high level and that he is “unstoppable” when at his best.

“It’s great to see Phil Foden back and playing at this level. Last season was difficult for him with injuries and other things, but when he’s at his best, he’s unstoppable,” Smith said on BBC Radio 5 Live.

There were already signs during the summer that Foden was happier and that has now proven to be the case, as the midfielder looks set to play a prominent role in leading Man City to titles during the current campaign.

Phil Foden’s first half against Huddersfield

In addition to his goal, Foden was involved in everything Man City did well in the first half against Huddersfield, and it became clear quickly that the England international was the best player on the pitch.

Foden created the most chances (1) in the opening 45 minutes, completed the most dribbles (2), and won the most duels (3) against Huddersfield, and it now looks like a stroke of genius from Guardiola to play the 25-year-old against the League One club, as his confidence will remain high.

Man City fans were worried about their academy graduate heading into the 2025/26 campaign, and those fears have now been eased over the last two weeks, as Foden looks back to his very best.
