Man City took another step towards Champions League qualification for next season.
Pep Guardiola’s team secured a 1-0 win over an in-form Wolves side at the Etihad Stadium on Friday night with Kevin De Bruyne grabbing the winning goal for Man City in the first half, which moves the Premier League giants up to third in the standings before their rivals play over the weekend.
This is not the first time the Belgian has stepped up for the Manchester club in recent weeks, as De Bruyne also put on a masterclass in Man City’s 5-2 win against Crystal Palace at the start of April as the 33-year-old looks to end his career with City on a high.
Chicago Fire looks like De Bruyne’s next destination as of now, but speaking about the legendary midfielder, Sky Sports pundit Micah Richards believes the Belgian is still good enough to play at the highest level.

It remains to be seen what De Bruyne’s final decision will be when it comes to his future, but the Belgian has shown at times this season that he can still play at the highest level and recently, the Man City legend left the door open to remain in the Premier League.
However, the 33-year-old has shown signs of his level deteriorating and many Man City fans have told Richards that they would like to see the superstar leave now as he can do so on a high, which the Sky Sports pundit seems to agree with.
“Maybe he’s just, I don’t want to put words into his mouth, he’s still good enough to play here,” Richards said about De Bruyne on Sky Sports. “You know, in terms of, and I mentioned beforehand the press and all that sort of stuff, the way Man City want to get the ball back.
“Maybe he’s not got that side, but quality-wise, he believes he can still play at the top level and I actually believe him.
“I’ve been speaking to a lot of City fans and they said, you know, it’s nice that he goes this season so he’s going on a high and I think a couple of weeks ago he said that he feels injury free for the first time, where he feels a bit more mobile, a bit more flexible.”
De Bruyne is planning to end his Man City career in the best way possible and said after the Wolves game what he will be doing between now and the end of the season.

De Bruyne’s goal against Wolves could be huge for Man City and their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League next season and after the contest at the Etihad, the Belgian told Sky Sports that he will continue to do his job until the very end.
“We know that it’s been a tough year, but we’re finding a little bit of a groove, we’re winning the games that we need to win for the moment. So let’s hope we can end the season like that,” the midfielder stated.
“I just try to play as good football as I can and obviously I know I’ve got one game left here [at the Etihad Stadium]. But I am just trying to do my job like I’ve always done and I did that today, so I’m proud of what I’m doing and that’s how it’s supposed to be.”
Man City have already put plans in place for De Bruyne’s farewell, which is set to be a very emotional affair for all involved with the Manchester club.
The 33-year-old is considered the greatest player to ever play for City and although this season has been tough for Guardiola’s men, they can still end it on a high for their captain.
