Rivals fans all have the same theory about Man City’s 115 charges after latest Pep Guardiola contract

Pep Guardiola looks set to stay at Manchester City until 2026 — agreeing a brand-new contract extension at the club with an option to extend for another year — further cementing his legacy as one of the Premier League’s greatest-ever managers.

Guardiola could spend 10 years at Manchester City by the time his deal runs out — surpassing Jurgen Klopp, who managed Liverpool for nine seasons.

Manchester City fans are overjoyed by Guardiola’s contract extension news as the club have managed to tie down arguably the greatest manager in history to a fresh deal.

Arsenal and Liverpool fans reacted to Guardiola’s contract amongst others with disappointment as his stay could dent their hopes of winning the Premier League title this season and in the near future.

After their takeover in 2008, Manchester City severed ties with Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellegrini after three seasons at the club.

But it goes without saying that Pep Guardiola has outdone both managers at City.

Rival fans predict Man City beat 115 charges after Guardiola contract

As a result, it comes as no shock that the Catalan has outlasted both Mancini and Pellegrini at the Etihad Stadium.

After his debut season where his side finished second, the lowest Guardiola’s City side have finished is in second place in 2020.

Manchester City’s rival fans are convinced that the club have managed to be found innocent of their 115 financial charges alleged by the Premier League due to Pep Guardiola reportedly agreeing a contract renewal.

An Arsenal fan then wrote: “I doubt Pep [Guardiola] extends if he isn’t reassured the club will beat these 115 charges. City probably won’t get bagged.”

A Chelsea supporter said: “Congratulations to City supporters by the way”.

“Pep signing new Manchester City deal is bad news. This means City will be cleared of the 115 charges because Pep would not sign a contract if he didn’t know what the outcome.”

Pep Guardiola’s contract chances if Man City are found guilty of 115 charges

In October, it was reported that Pep Guardiola’s chances of signing a contract extension would have been even likelier if Manchester City were found guilty of financial wrongdoing by the Premier League.

It was claimed that the charges in place were “not a major part of his thought process.”

Instead, Pep Guardiola’s focus was the “hunger” of his players at Manchester City and whether he would be backed by the club to continue striving for success.

The report stated that the fact that Guardiola had even considered signing a one-year contract extension goes to show that he remains unconcerned about the potential verdict of the charges.

The fact that there is an option in Pep Guardiola’s reported deal to stay at City for an extra year indicates that he is willing to manage the club even if they are struck with the consequences of being guilty.

As a result, the theory posed by supporters of other clubs seems far from the truth.
